concentrates on the development of system
software for embedded systems. The focus
lies on the real-time operating system
EUROS, which is specially designed for
applications in this market.
The EUROS Embedded Internet Solution
consists of the industry standard TCP/IP
protocol accessed via the standard socket
programming interface. In addition services
such as PPP, FTP server, SNMP agent, SMTP
client and Webserver are supported.
Altium offers the preferred TASKING tools
for developing EUROS applications based
on Infineon C16x.
IMS, an Institute of the Fraunhofer-
Gesellschaft, has skills in the spheres of
devices and technology, circuit design and
systems and application technology, as well
as CAD and testing.
The software “1394Soft” provides the
basic means for implementing the IEEE
1394 standard in peripheral and embedded
devices. It consists of an implementation
of the Transaction Layer and Serial Bus
Management according the standard
as well as an Application Programming
Interface (API) that provides all functions
necessary to integrate IEEE 1394 into own
applications.
The software in its present revision is
optimized for a dedicated microcontroller
IXXAT supports its customers completely
in the establishment and application of
communication systems based on CAN
and TCP/IP, from seminars and consulting,
hard- and software outlining, development
and implementation of hard- and software
solutions, up to the supply of a complete
product line.
For the customer specific implementation
of higher layer protocols into devices with
a CAN interface, IXXAT offers powerful
protocol software packages for CANopen
and DeviceNet which are already adapted
to TASKING compilers and various
microcontrollers.

Layer Controller well suited for embedded
applications (Texas Instruments TSB12LV32
\GP2LYNX). Developing own applications
requires code generation software for the
C161 that must be purchased separately.
For software development, the TASKING
EDE is recommended.
Of course, in a lot of cases the peripheral
device will be connected to a host
computer. Although the principles of
operation do not differ between 1394
devices it is not expected to use the
software 1394Soft on desktop computers
running a standard PC operating system.
