In 2012, <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> invested in Habitat for Humanity’s Woods at Golden Givens, a 30-home residentialcommunity complete with a shared community center and play area. <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> also provided funding for the<strong>Pierce</strong> <strong>County</strong> Youth and Young Advisory Council, a CampFire USA programe aimed at supporting youth and youngadults experiencing or at risk for homelessness. Additionally, <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Pierce</strong> <strong>County</strong> continued to fund ProjectHomeless Connect, connecting over 1,500 people experiencing homelessness to other important services. Theevent provides services such as haircuts and health screenings and is supported by 60 local agencies and over 600volunteers. <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Pierce</strong> <strong>County</strong> also funded 17 programs addressing housing and financial self-sufficiencyas part <strong>of</strong> the Community Solutions Fund.13
