Healthy families createa healthy community.15Health CareIn 2012, United Way provided funding to MultiCare’sReady Set Go 5-2-1-0 program. With a CommunityOutreach Coordinator, made possible by thegrant, this collaborative program reached 720medical providers, 3,810 community membersand 24 schools last year. The school programs, inpartnership with YMCA afterschool care, shared themessage of healthy eating, limited screen time andan active lifestyle to almost 10,000 students. A sixweekstudy of third and fourth graders in the programfound that one out of three increased activity andwater consumption and one out of eight studentsdecreased screen time.
