12 HERE IS TELEVISIONother method consisted of a rifle sight attached to the side of thecamera. The cameraman gauged his field of vision by lining thepicture up through this metal frame.These early arrangements were practical but they failed to givethe results attainable today. The cameraman sees in his viewfinder,the picture the audience at home is seeing, when his camera is on the air and consequently there is no question as toproper "framing" and "composition." The electronic view finderhas the added advantage sometimes in low light operation ofshowing more detail than the cameraman might see even withthe naked eye.A modern television camera.
