On behalf of the Board, Chair Chahbar provided recognition and congratulations to Chief<br />

Faulkner and all members of the London Police Service on the success of the Colour of<br />

Consecration Ceremony and Dinner.<br />

1. Promotions & Retirements<br />

Family members/friends were present for the following promotions to the rank of Sergeant:<br />

� Patrick Joseph Alexander<br />

� Jeffrey William Arbing<br />

� Donald Jeffrey Dunham<br />

Congratulations were extended to all newly promoted Sergeants from the Board and<br />

others in attendance.<br />

Formal recognition was given to retiring Senior Officers Detective Superintendent Buzz<br />

Bezaire and Superintendent Stephen Pearson. Chair Chahbar highlighted their individual<br />

successes and contributions to the organization.<br />

2. London Community Foundation<br />

Ms. Martha Powell, Director of Development, London Community Foundation was in<br />

attendance at the meeting to make a cheque presentation of $10,000 to Chief Faulkner on<br />

behalf of the London Police Service. The cheque was awarded through the London<br />

Community Foundation, Ontario Endowment for Children and Youth in Recreation Fund in<br />

support of the London Police Service 2007 P.E.A.C.E. Program.<br />

Chief Faulkner provided a verbal report to the Board regarding activities of the London<br />

Police Service during Police Week, May 13 th – 19 th , 2007.<br />

Appreciation was also expressed to Board Members for their attendance at the LPS<br />

Colour Consecration Ceremony. A video memento will be made available to the Board<br />

when completed.<br />

Police Service 2007 Police Week.”<br />

accordance with LPSB Policy 060(A), and the Adequacy Standards<br />

Regulation, Policing Standards Manual (2000); as submitted by Deputy<br />

Chief Peer for the period ending December 31 st , 2006:<br />

(a) Criminal Investigation Division<br />

(b) Hate/Bias Motivated Crime.”<br />

10. OAPSB Annual Conference<br />

The Board received a verbal report from Board Member, Gord Hume on his attendance<br />

at the Ontario Association of Police Service Boards (OAPSB) Conference in Owen<br />

Sound. The entire OAPSB conference package is available for review through the board<br />

office.<br />

(b) Letter dated April 16, 2007 from Eve Roknic, Manager, Program Development<br />

Section, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services re: Reduce<br />

Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Grant Program Applications.<br />

(c) Letter dated April 27, 2007 from Constable Jason Wong re: The 2007 London<br />

Dragon Boat Race Festival.<br />

(d) LPSB Budget summary as at April 30, 2007.<br />

(e) Letter dated May 2, 2007 from Minister Monte Kwinter, Ministry of Community<br />

Safety and Correctional Services re: response to R.I.D.E. Grant funding letter sent<br />

March 26, 2007.<br />

13. Divisional Presentation<br />

Senior Director Eldon Amoroso and Director Jeff Craigmile from the Information &<br />

Technology Division provided a verbal report to the Board on the London Police Service<br />

LiveScan Project, the latest advancement in the electronic capturing of finger prints.<br />

LiveScan Project leaders Detective Sergeant Tom Bradley, Forensic Identification and<br />

Andy Hunter, Technology Service were available to demonstrate the systems<br />

capabilities.<br />
