In order for a child care institution to be eligible for Title IV-E funding, thelicensing file for the institution contains documentation which verifies thatsafety considerations with respect to the staff of the institution have beenaddressed.471(a)(20)(C) g. The State/Tribal shall check any child abuse and neglect registry for informationon any prospective foster or adoptive parent and on any other adult living in thehome of such a prospective parent for such information, before the prospectivefoster or adoptive parent may be finally approved for placement of a child,regardless of whether foster care maintenance payments or adoption assistancepayments are to be made on behalf of the child:1. The State/Tribal shall check any child abuse and neglect registry it maintains forsuch information.2. The State/Tribal shall request any other State/Tribal in which any suchprospective parent or other adult has resided in the preceding 5 years, to checkany child abuse and neglect registry maintained by such other State/Tribal forsuch information.3.
