He becameclose with many people who worked in the design industry and sawmany of them headlining in topnotch publications including, The New YorkTimes, WWD (Women’s Wear Daily), and various television shows. While tohim, they were merely his close friends, to the public they became leadersin the design field. “Looking back I considered myself blessed to haveknown such people and to have lived in NYC for 22 years where every daywas an event filled with style and purpose.”Today, Taormina is the President and CEO of the <strong>Design</strong> <strong>District</strong>’s own ClimaOutdoor Collections. The company represents many different lines that are transitionaland classic, while others are more modern and fresh. Some lines includingthe Richard Schultz 1966 Collection that has been around for over 50 years isstill considered the creme de la creme in the design realm today. Another wellknownmanufacturer, Gandia Blasco is still producing stylish compositions inContemporary Outdoor Living even after for 30 years in the business.My customers want their“ outdoor spaces to be anexpression of themselves, andwe can provide that with ourunique, versatile collections.”Of course, this still leaves Clima Outdoor Collections opened to take on newcollections including the very latest Mast Collection. “We just acquired theexclusivity for the Mast Collection from Italy, right off the floor of the furnitureshow in Milan 2012,” he said. It is constructed out of the latest designmaterials within the outdoor furniture industry made of “fiberglass, highpressure laminate and molded carbon fiber.” The overall designs for thisparticular line are so extraordinary that they are said to set very high standardsfor future outdoor products.Clima Outdoor Collections is now in the process of opening two new showroomsby 2013, offering <strong>Miami</strong> a medley of the newest designer products,fabrics and accessories worldwide that, “a client may need to furnish thevision of their outdoor spaces.” ◆18 <strong>Design</strong> <strong>District</strong>
