Half Term fun at CallonOver the last six months Callon Kids Community Club has beendelivering numerous events and activities. February half term was coldwet and windy, but this did not put off any children or parents attendingthe activities. Activities included fishing at the Brockhols Nature Reserve,a visit to Gulliver’s World in Warrington, swimming at Blackburn Wavesand a trip to the Cinema to see Alvin and the Chipmunks!Easter half term was a lot warmerand gave the children theopportunity to visit more outdoorvenues. They had a fantastic day atBamber Bridge Park with its vastarray of slides, zip lines, climbingframes and skate park. They alsovisited the local tenpin bowling alleyand Blackpool Pleasure Beach, whichturned out to be a mammoth task forthe volunteers, who had to make sureall 145 people attending got on thecorrect bus, had their tickets, packedlunches and their ‘I am lost, pleasephone this number’ stickers attachedto their coat’s.The next six months are going to beeven busier, the club are planning forthe school summer holidays and this isgoing to be six weeks of fun, fun, fun.All events and activities are deliveredby community volunteers andsupported by Contour Homes,Groundwork, and Preston CityCouncil Sports Development.Contact Colin Makinson on 0345602 1120 for more information.FishingGulliver’s WorldBamber Bridge ParkSwimming17
