Throughout these courses students gain the necessaryknowledge and practical skills to successfully pass Cisco Certified Networking Associate(CCNA) and Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) certification exams. Theseexams are well known and highly recognized by the industry. Education that is a part ofthe Academy offer complete spectrum of courses, starting with basic principles of howcomputer networks work and continuing with modern networking technologies such as IPTelephony and Wireless Communication based on IEEE 802.11 standards (WiFi). Laboratoryfacilities are equipped with modern communication technology including hardwarerouters, hardware switches, hardware firewalls, PCs with connection to the Internet andother necessary components for the purpose of practical education in the field of computernetworks.RCNA FIIT STU offers technological environment for research in the field of modernmethods of communication in the computer networks. It creates quality conditions forsolving research grants in the field of methods and resources for creating security andmanagement of communication and mobile computer systems. Pedagogical process isgreatly enhanced by providing the necessary support for practical learning during the educationof subjects related to computer networking throughout all three degrees of studyprogram Computer systems. Within the education process of RCNA prepares instructortraining of 24 Local Cisco Networking Academies in the Slovakia and prepares studentsfor CCNA and CCNP certification exams.119
