It is well documented that deliveringa product to market ahead of all competitors typically results ina decided advantage. The main goal of this thesis was to research andanalyze system methods, propose contributions to the field of methodsof computer system de-sign. One of the contributions was a modellinglanguage, which should provide a better coverage of the design
Annual report 2009 67flow in the field of co-design. The proposed language supportsgraphical and textual visualization, heterogeneous behavioural modelling,and object oriented design. Several contributions have been proposedin the processing step of the system design flow. Testing hasshown us an increase of the speed of the modified Kernighan-Lin algorithmof approx. 27% and minor increase of the fitness. In the caseof genetic algorithm the impact of changing the parameters of the partitioningalgorithm has been analyzed.Student name: Radovan SemančíkDegree program: Computer Hardware and SystemsThesis title: Revised World Wide Web ArchitectureSupervisor: Margaréta Kotočová, Associate ProfessorDefended on: May 20, 2009Annotation: Internet and World Wide Web were developed in evolutionary fashionfollowing changing requirements of the users and usage patterns.The recent requirements on the dynamics of World Wide Web, increasedinteractivity and effectiveness of cooperation introduce yetan-other paradigm shift that goes deep into the architecture of WorldWide Web. A model that can be used to describe the interactions ofphysical and virtual worlds is provided for better under-standing ofthe forces behind these changes. The target environment for the Internetand World Wide Web is discussed; motivated by a desire to betterunderstand requirements of the users. The described model and thediscussion of desired environment is used to evaluate the architectureof the Internet and World Wide Web. Inconsistencies of World WideWeb architecture are identified and described in detail. Architecturalimprovements are proposed to solve the problems, described in aform of a new architectural styles and constraints, especially theRRSS architectural style. The proposed architecture is divided intoseveral layers of abstraction for easier understanding and maintainability.Proposed architecture is validated by showing that it can supportscenarios that are difficult to implement in current World WideWeb environment.8.4 Research LaboratoriesComputer Networks Laboratory IManager: P.
