MethodologyThis project was conducted through <strong>the</strong> following stages:Research, information ga<strong>the</strong>ring and investigation about CSR activities on websites ofsports organizations, in order to familiarize <strong>the</strong> group with <strong>the</strong> current state of socialresponsibility activities in sports.Review and analysis of <strong>the</strong> literature – books, journals, websites – about CSR in order tostreng<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> understanding for CSR and about different academic approaches to ‘campaign<strong>the</strong>ories’.Interviews – e.g. with UEFA President Mr. Michel Platini, Head of UEFA FSR Mr. PatrickGasser.Questionnaires – e.g. Mr. William Gaillard (Head of UEFA Communication), Mark Chaplin,(Chief writer, uefa.com), Mr. Michael Heselschwerdt (Head of Club Competitions), Mr.Sebastién Leclerc (Head of special projects), Mr. Robert Faulkner (Head of Media Relations),Mr. Stéphane Schwander (Web Production Coordinator)In depth e-mail correspondence with UEFA, <strong>FIFA</strong>, etc.Structuring <strong>the</strong> vast literature about CSR and campaigning, taking stock of UEFA’s socialresponsibility activities and finally:Creativity – <strong>the</strong> project group tried to be thoughtful, practical and creative givingrecommendations to UEFA concerning <strong>the</strong> ‘Respect campaign’.ix
