Each year the festival and the events programme present a number of world music artists such as Manuel ‘Guajiro’ Mirabal from Buena Vista Social Club. In addition, Aldeburgh Education and the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme train young musicians from all over the world. Aldeburgh is one of three international centres of excellence for professional development in music created by Arts Council England in 2003 (Dartington Plus [Hall] and The Sage Gateshead are the other two).
