3 Getting StartedThe QConvergeConsole CLI manages iSCSI, Ethernet, and Fibre Channelfunctions on QLogic Fibre Channel adapters, Intelligent Ethernet Adapters, andConverged Network Adapters. This chapter describes how to start theQConvergeConsole CLI using the noninteractive mode (command line interface)and the interactive mode (menu-driven interface).Using Noninteractive ModeNoninteractive mode is a command line interface that executes a command andits parameters, and then terminates. Use the noninteractive mode to runQConvergeConsole CLI from a script file or when you want to perform a singleoperation. This guide describes the noninteractive mode commands by function inthe following sections:• Section 4, NIC Noninteractive Commands• Section 5, Fibre Channel Noninteractive Commands• Section 6, iSCSI Noninteractive CommandsTo start the noninteractive QConvergeConsole CLI in Windows 1 or Linux, open anoperating system shell, and then type commands with command line switches.For specific command formats, refer to the section for the corresponding adapterfunction. For example, to discover iSCSI ports on a Converged Network Adapter,issue the following command:qaucli -pr iscsi -iQConvergeConsole CLI is case sensitive. In addition, file names in someoperating systems are case sensitive; in this case, QConvergeConsole CLI iscase sensitive for that specific file.Using Interactive ModeInteractive mode is a menu-driven interface that manages QLogic Ethernetadapters, QLogic Fibre Channel Adapters, and all functions of QLogic ConvergedNetwork Adapters, including NIC, Fibre Channel, and iSCSI.
