Section 5: Teacher attendance and retention ratesTeacher attendance ratesIn <strong>2012</strong> the average daily staff attendance rate was 100%.nb: for the purpose of this reporting section, non-attendance relates to any non-approved absence of more than 5consecutive daysTeacher retention ratesThe proportion of staff retained from 2011 was 95%.Section 6: Student attendance and retention rates in secondaryschoolsStudent attendanceThe student attendance rate at <strong>Kinross</strong> <strong>Wolaroi</strong> <strong>School</strong> for <strong>2012</strong> was 96% from K-12.Student retention ratesStudent retention rates from Year 6 into Year 7 at <strong>Kinross</strong> <strong>Wolaroi</strong> <strong>School</strong> are very high with over 90 % of studentscontinuing on into Year 7. Family relocation and Sydney school choice are usually the main reasons for noncontinuationfrom the Preparatory to Secondary <strong>School</strong> at KWS.Student retention rates continue to be strong. In <strong>2012</strong> only one Year 12 student moved to complete her studies at anew school. 135 students sat the HSC in <strong>2012</strong>.Section 7: Post school destinationsIn Year 12 <strong>2012</strong>, 133 students presented for the Higher <strong>School</strong> Certificate at <strong>Kinross</strong> <strong>Wolaroi</strong> <strong>School</strong>. Of thesestudents, 112 were offered places through UAC with 33 of these students being offered a place through thePrincipals’ <strong>Report</strong> Entry Program. The majority of the places offered were at universities in New South Wales:Sydney 8New South Wales 23Macquarie 3University of Technology 2Canberra University 6ANU 6Newcastle 9New England 9Wollongong 16CSU Bathurst 13CSU Wagga 8CSU Albury 1Southern Cross 1Australian Catholic University 2UWS 1ICMS 2Think Group 2Courses selected are varied and include Medicine, Law, Economics, Sciences, Zoology, Engineering, Commerce,Nursing, Creative Arts, and Education.Post-school destinations for our other students include TAFE courses and some entered into apprenticeships.A number of our students chose to take a year off between Year 12 and commencing their tertiary studies.
