<strong>Minutes</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 62 nd <strong>Meeting</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Central</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification andRelease <strong>of</strong> Varieties for Agricultural Crops held under <strong>the</strong> Chairmanship <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>. S.K.Datta, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR on 2 nd May, 2012 at Committee RoomNo. 1, ICAR, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.The list <strong>of</strong> participants is at Annexure-I.The Chairman, <strong>Central</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release<strong>of</strong> Varieties for Agricultural Crops welcomed <strong>the</strong> members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Committee and special inviteesfor <strong>the</strong> meeting. He commended that Shri R.K. Trivedi has recently joined as DeputyCommissioner (QC) in DAC and taken over <strong>the</strong> charge as Member Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>Central</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee on Crop Standards Notification and Release <strong>of</strong> Varieties for Agricultural Crops. Healso emphasized that sponsoring organizations should thoroughly examine <strong>the</strong> proposals andsubmit all details including distinct morphological characters <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> variety with statisticalanalysis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> results, so that <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee can speedily take views on <strong>the</strong> proposals.Thereafter, Member Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee took up <strong>the</strong> Agenda items for considerationby <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee.Item No.1:Confirmation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> minutes <strong>of</strong> 61 st meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>Central</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee onCrop Standards, Notification and Release <strong>of</strong> Varieties for Agricultural Cropsheld on 15 th Oct. 2011.The minutes <strong>of</strong> 61 st meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>Central</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee on Crop Standards, Notificationand Release <strong>of</strong> Varieties for Agricultural Crops were confirmed. The <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee noted that<strong>the</strong> Gazette Notification S.O. No. 456 dated <strong>the</strong> 16 th March, 2012 was issued for <strong>the</strong> cultivarsrecommended in <strong>the</strong> 61 st <strong>Meeting</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee for release/notification.Item No.2:Review <strong>of</strong> follow up action <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 61 st meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>Central</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee onCrop Standards, Notification and Release <strong>of</strong> Varieties for Agricultural Crops.The <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee approved <strong>the</strong> notification <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> varieties mentioned below in TableNo. 1 which were recommended in <strong>the</strong> 55 th , 56 th , 57 th , 60 th and 61 st meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sub</strong>-Committee but kept in abeyance for want <strong>of</strong> information like submission <strong>of</strong> seed sample withNBPGR, detailed Morphological characters, All <strong>India</strong> Coordinated Trial data on disease, genesis<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> parentages, NBT Certificate from Project Coordinator (Rice) for qualifying Basmati.
