It also noted that <strong>the</strong> Policy also provides that DAC andDARE will keep in close touch with FAO and CGAIR in regard to <strong>the</strong> latestdevelopment abroad in Wheat and Paddy. Fur<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>the</strong> policy provides that it isnecessary to increase <strong>the</strong> production <strong>of</strong> both cereals – oilseeds and pulses bymaking available high-yielding varieties to <strong>the</strong> farmers. Palm Tech <strong>India</strong> Limited, # 5-1-61, 1 st Floor, Main Road,Suryarao peta, Kakinada – 533 001, East Godavari District, A.P. Out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> totalquantity <strong>the</strong> firm made arrangement to import 3,50,000 Nos <strong>of</strong> Oil Palm sproutsand <strong>the</strong> balance <strong>of</strong> 2,50,000 Nos. <strong>of</strong> oil palm sprouts are yet to be imported.There<strong>for</strong>e, <strong>the</strong> company requested <strong>the</strong> <strong>EXIM</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> to extend <strong>the</strong> validityperiod <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> balance quantity and change <strong>of</strong> source <strong>for</strong> import.Accordingly, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> recommended to import <strong>the</strong> balancequantity <strong>of</strong> 2,50,000 Nos. <strong>of</strong> Oil sprouts from CIRAD France instead <strong>of</strong> CostaRica/Malasia upto 24 th July, 2009, subject to <strong>the</strong> Plant Quarantine (Regulation <strong>of</strong>import into <strong>India</strong>) Order, 2003, and amendment made <strong>the</strong>rein.IMPORT OF ASIAN PEAR PLANTSItem No.37: Proposal <strong>for</strong> import <strong>of</strong> total 860 plants <strong>of</strong> Asian Pear c.v.Housi-455 Nos., Shinseiki-195 Nos., Raja-96 Nos. andLarge Korean-114 Nos. from USA by M/s. The <strong>Committee</strong> directed <strong>the</strong> Division as below:i. To amend <strong>the</strong> application <strong>for</strong>m to be filed by companies <strong>for</strong>export/import to incorporate important in<strong>for</strong>mation notpresently included particularly <strong>the</strong> ITC(HS) Classification <strong>of</strong>Export and Import items, 2007-08. The pr<strong>of</strong>orma will be put upseparately <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Chairman <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> onfile and also be uploaded on <strong>the</strong> website <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>public.ii.iii.The cases where <strong>the</strong> basic pre-requisites/in<strong>for</strong>mation have notbeen provided by <strong>the</strong> Company such as seed dealer licence, ITC(HS) Classification, etc., should not be put up <strong>for</strong> consideration<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Committee</strong>. Applicants may be in<strong>for</strong>med aboutdeficiencies.The essential in<strong>for</strong>mation/documents required to be furnishedby a party <strong>for</strong> its case to be taken up <strong>for</strong> consideration should beindicated while putting up <strong>the</strong> application <strong>for</strong> consideration <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> <strong>Committee</strong>.The <strong>Committee</strong> noted that despite pointing out repeatedly, <strong>the</strong>Section was not filling <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>orma <strong>for</strong> consideration <strong>of</strong> applicationproperly. This was viewed seriously. It would be <strong>the</strong> personalresponsibility <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> in-charge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Section to provide correct and fullin<strong>for</strong>mation on <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>orma to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Committee</strong>.The <strong>Committee</strong> noted that <strong>the</strong> Section was not furnishing <strong>the</strong> list<strong>of</strong> pending cases. In view <strong>of</strong> above direction, it decided that <strong>the</strong> Sectionmust furnish in<strong>for</strong>mation <strong>of</strong> following in <strong>the</strong> next <strong>meeting</strong>:i. Cases pending with <strong>the</strong> Section.ii. Cases not put up to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> and returned to <strong>the</strong>parties <strong>for</strong> non-compliance <strong>of</strong> essential requirements.Meeting ended with a vote <strong>of</strong> thanks to <strong>the</strong> Chair.
