Fastforward to now and Camden ownsor shares ownership in a total offive self-service laundries in thearea, but the strategy has changedfrom small neighborhood-stylelaundries to large mega-sizestores, big enough in size and withenough services and amenities todraw customers from a five-mileradius.“Our ultimate goal is to reachcustomers with large enough storesto handle all of their laundry anddry cleaning needs from a single,convenient in-and-out location,”Jeff explained.Nearby Bossier City, wherethe partners see potential furtherexpansion opportunity, is home toBarksdale Air Force Base, with itstens of thousands of U.S. Air Forcepersonnel. The military base is amajor source of economic stabilityto the entire area.The new Speed-Brite Laundryis undoubtedly one of the largestand nicest Maytag-equippedstores in Shreveport and perhapsin the entire state.
