<strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> <strong>Service</strong> TM <strong>Policies</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Procedures</strong> <strong>Manual</strong>the <strong>GED</strong> Tests with the <strong>GED</strong> Administrator. Tests are available only in complete battery setsof six (6) test booklets, <strong>and</strong> they must be ordered using the official order form which must besigned by the <strong>GED</strong> Chief Examiner.3.3-2 Reordering Test Batteries During the Contract YearOrders for additional testing materials are permitted during the contract year. The <strong>GED</strong> ChiefExaminer must submit all reorders on the official order form to <strong>GED</strong>TS. All materials will bebilled at the full annual rental fee <strong>and</strong> all secure testing materials ordered must be returned atthe end of the contract year.The <strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> <strong>Service</strong> will prorate battery rental fees only for new <strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> Centersthat begin operation during the contract year.3.4 Receipt <strong>and</strong> Storage of Secure <strong>Testing</strong> MaterialsThe <strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> <strong>Service</strong> requires that the <strong>GED</strong> Chief Examiner of each official <strong>GED</strong> testingcenter prepare <strong>and</strong> maintain a plan for receiving <strong>and</strong> storing secure <strong>GED</strong> testing materials. Thisplan should outline the process from the point at which the <strong>GED</strong> Chief Examiner is notifiedof a shipment date of secure testing materials through receipt <strong>and</strong> storage of materials.3.4-1 Shipment, Receipt, <strong>and</strong> Verification of Secure <strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> MaterialsA)B)C)D)The <strong>GED</strong> Chief Examiner or <strong>GED</strong> Examiner shall thoroughly inventory secure testingmaterials.The <strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> <strong>Service</strong> will notify by e-mail each <strong>GED</strong> Chief Examiner at each <strong>GED</strong>testing center of the shipment date with a UPS tracking number for all shipped materials.The <strong>GED</strong> Chief Examiner shall ensure that the shipment is tracked <strong>and</strong> shall contact the<strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>and</strong> the Administrator of any concerns about the shipment or anyunusual delays.Unless otherwise addressed in the receiving plan, the <strong>GED</strong> Chief Examiner or <strong>GED</strong>Examiner shall complete the following within one business day after receipt of securetesting materials:1.2.3.Inventory all materials.Check the shipment against the packing slip.Check the condition of the materials page by page.Section 3: <strong>Policies</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Procedures</strong> for Operating an Official <strong>GED</strong> <strong>Testing</strong> CenterThis does not include centers that have been involved in a test compromise <strong>and</strong> are required to retire a form of the test. Forexample, only three st<strong>and</strong>ard print forms of the tests are issued each year. If a center has one of those forms retired due to acompromise, then that center is left with only two forms of the test to administer.June 2008 24
