ATMs are unreliable and havesmall limits for withdrawals; you canobtain money from hotels on your cardbut they also normally have small limits;banks have irregular hours and theprocess of changing money is timeconsuming. Some restaurants and shopswill take card but not all. All hotels youstaying do take all major credit cards.Single <strong>Travel</strong>lers : We especiallywelcome single travellers on our tours.You have two options, you can chooseto share a room with another singletraveller on the tour and pay thestandard tour price or you can chooseto guarantee sole occupancy of a room,in which case a supplement is payable.Dining : All meals indicated will betaken as a group. Some will be inhotels, some local restaurants and inKalimantan all lunches will be buffets onboard the boat. Facilities in localrestaurants are basic so be prepared.Local guides : An experiencedEnglish-speaking local guide will meetyou on arrival in Solo. You will have alocal guide for each area you travel to.Our local guides are carefully selectedfor their in-depth knowledge,interpretation, and ability to managelarge groups as well as their skills ascharming hosts.Extending your trip : You have theoption to extend your trip in <strong>Indonesia</strong>.Maybe a few days relaxing by the beachin Bali or nearby Lombok, discovering anearby region such as Komodo <strong>Island</strong>on a short tour or for the moreadventurous heading to Sulawesi forthe unique funeral rituals. You may alsochoose to break the journey to andfrom <strong>Indonesia</strong> with a stop over inSingapore. However, there are afew elements which involve getting inand out of boats or walking on roughunsurfaced paths and so a certaindegree of physical dexterity will berequired. An experienced guide will beon hand to help anyone should theyneed it. Some excursions also involvean option to climb steps or pathswhich may be steep, loose and/or wetunderfoot. You should also be awareand prepared for the following on thistrip:* High altitude – Mount Bromo sits ataround 2,300m and some warmclothing is needed (hat, gloves, jumperand trousers suggested – you can layerup as needed).* In Kalimantan a certain level ofdexterity is required for boarding theklotok boats. Please also be aware thatduring the day, the bathroom facilitieson board are very basic.* Some of the roads in <strong>Indonesia</strong> arepoorly maintained making somejourneys quite bumpy.*It may on occasion be necessary tocarry your own luggage throughairports or from the vehicles to hotelsand vice versa.Expenses : Most costs are covered onthis trip and you are only likely to needextra spending money for laundry, tips,drinks and a handful of meals that arenot already included. We will providetipping guidelines in your final itinerarypre travel. Wine will perhaps be yourbiggest expense as it is taxed at over400% in <strong>Indonesia</strong>.
