Cruisin’ for Camp Courageous brings
hundreds of vehicles & visitors to camp
A big thank you to this year’s participants and visitors that attended the
2011 Cruisin’ for Camp Courageous event. The Cedar Valley Street Rods
put on a great show again! Thank you, also, to the sponsors, volunteers
and everyone that makes this event such a successful and fun day.
A big thank you to the Memory Lane Cruisers
from Wapello who attended this year's
Cruisin'. They brought a car load of supplies
for Camp Courageous. (L-R) Terry Gillette,
Gene Jackson, and Jim Gabriel. We look
forward to seeing them back next year!
Thank you to the Cedar Rapids Corvette
Club for donating this Corvette full of needed
items to the camp. They also donated a
check and their winnings to camp. Great
group!

Thank you to Joyce and Harold Hutchins for
inviting Camp Courageous to give a program
to the Prime Club from the University of
Iowa Community Credit Union. They met in
the new UICCU building at Westdale Mall.

great hospitality and support!
Ardy Sloane had a love of books and children.
After unexpectedly passing away last fall, her
family knew they would like her passion to be
her legacy. As a teacher at North Linn High
School, Ardy was familiar with camp and the
individuals with specials needs served here.
Her daughter, Carolyn, contacted camp to
see what they could do as a memorial for
their mother. She thought camp could use
new books for the library and to give as gifts
to the campers. Carolyn’s daughters lovingly
selected appropriate books for the campers
and purchased two large totes full! In
addition, they wanted to give more campers
a chance to come to camp by donating over
five camperships! What a beautiful person
Ardy Sloane must have been to have left
such a positive influence on her daughter
and grandaughters. Shown are Jim and
Carolyn Ferraioli and daughters Sloane,
Luca, and Mona. It was wonderful to have
them visit camp!
Adam Morarie, a driver for Stutsman, delivers
several pallets of salt for camp's water
softener system and nitrate removal system.
A big thank you to Ron Stutsman and the
Stutsman Family for their very generous
donation to camp of salt and much more.
Ron's support followed his father, Eldon, who
also was wonderful to camp!
