Guthrie, Ph.D. is the William andJudy Docking Pr<strong>of</strong>essor with the School <strong>of</strong>Business at the University <strong>of</strong> Kansas. Hereceived his B.A. and M.B.A. from the StateUniversity <strong>of</strong> <strong>New</strong> York at Buffalo and hisPhD from the University <strong>of</strong> Maryland. Hewas Visiting Pr<strong>of</strong>essor with the KemmyBusiness School, University <strong>of</strong> Limerick. Hehas previously held visiting faculty appointmentswith the University <strong>of</strong> Waikato in<strong>New</strong> Zealand and with the Consortium<strong>of</strong> Universities for International BusinessStudies in Italy. He has published widely onthe impact <strong>of</strong> HR policies and practices onfirm performance.
