FAIR VALUEThe fair values of the financial assets and liabilities are included at the amount at which the instrument could be exchanged in acurrent transaction between willing parties, other than in a forced or liquidation sale. The following methods and assumptions wereused to estimate the fair values:The fair values of cash and cash equivalents, trade receivables, trade payables, financial assets included in prepayments, deposits andother receivables, financial liabilities included in other payables and accruals, dividends payable, interest-bearing bank loans, longtermrental deposits and long-term payables approximate to their carrying amounts.Unlisted available-for-sale equity investments are stated at cost less impairment because the investments do not have a quotedmarket price in an active market and in the opinion of the directors, the fair value cannot be measured reliably.36. FINANCIAL RISK MANAGEMENT OBJECTIVES AND POLICIESThe Group’s principal financial instruments comprise interest-bearing bank loans and cash and cash equivalents. The main purposeof these financial instruments is to raise finance for the Group’s operations. The Group has various other financial assets and liabilitiessuch as trade receivables and trade payables, which arise directly from its operations.It is, and has been throughout the reporting period, the Group’s policy that no trading in financial instruments should be undertaken.The main risks arising from the Group’s financial instruments are foreign currency risk, interest rate risk, credit risk and liquidity risk.The board of Directors reviews and agrees policies for managing each of these risks and they are summarised below.80XIAO NAN GUO RESTAURANTS HOLDINGS LIMITED
