I don't think there is anything in its class at that price point. The WAV4 really turned the EUB market on its head. It was a roaring success, but NS Design suspended production due to material issues. To fill the gap, they created a “CR WAV4” — the NXT!! It offers the fit and finish from the meticulous Czech shop, as well as a maple body, ebony fingerboard, at a new price point, just $1270 $1270 for the four string and $1420 for the fiver! These basses are essentially CR series instruments without the preamp and mag pickup — their quality fit and finish is that good! The tone-shaping options on the CR series are very impressive. Besides the traditional two-band (bass and treble) EQ and the balance control to blend the magnetic and the piezo pickups, there is a special "Polar" control to change the piezo pickup's response to either vertical or lateral vibration (for the best bowed and plucked sounds.
