Story: Monica CadySome things increase their value with time – fine wine, vintage cars, collectable artwork, and supposedlythose commemorative plates from the Bradford Exchange.According to BadFashion lead man Snyder, you can add his aggressive high-energy metal bandto that kind of list. Having been a musician for morethan 25 years, Snyder and band mates TommyBuckley (bass) and Kevin Alfinez (drums) have enoughexperience to rightfully consider themselves musicalambassadors of their South Florida stomping ground.“Something inside just keeps pulling me, I can’t stopit. We have a big gap betweenthat recording time, and [the new album] issignificantly different than the ‘96 CD, Hurt.” Snyderclaims that the band’s sound radically progressed in1994 when Alfinez joined the group. “Kevin reallycompleted the project. He’s got a serious groove,”says Snyder. While BadFashion released a few albums over theyears, their most recent offering, Heart and Soul, isthe most aggressive thus far. However, most of thematerial on the 10-song release was written yearsago. In fact, the first four songs are the only relativelynew works to be included. “[Heart and Soul] has a lotRAG MAGAZINE • JULY 2004 • 33
