Task Title:Comprehensive Transportation Study for the Municipality ofPeñuelas4. Task Description:The Municipality of Peñuelas intends to establish an urban coremass transit system in response with urban development.Technical assistance, data collection, and analysis are requiredfor the effectiveness of our goal. A “shuttle” (bus) or any othertransport system addressing transportation needs is definitelyimplemented through effective planning and coordination.Environmental management, land use, and other planningdecision are to be possible factors of impacts. Issues asaffordability and viability are to be analyzed by proper expertise.Information needs to be collected regarding effects actions intransport, transit operation, safety and traffic patternalternations. New issues like affordability and marketingmanagement responsibility need to be scrutinize in an earlyphase.The Municipality of Peñuelas intends to establish a transit serviceswithin our urban core are and premises benefiting people withall kind of income. Efficient planning requires informationcapturing, data collecting, effective identification andscrutinizing. The Municipality desire to collect and captureinformation in regards to provide reliable and safetransportation, be acquainted with the expected demand ofservices, vehicles required to satisfy demanding services, suitablevehicles for the transportation requirements, establishing routeand stations for secure Departure and arrivals, marketingnecessities, required investments and needed construction ofpedestrian safe crossing. All information collected shouldrespond to our goal of establish a high quality, safe,handicapped accessible, easy to board, time reliable way oftransportation.The task will make a reconnaissance of transportation needs andevaluate the level of transit service provided by Private Car inrelation to the needs of the population of Peñuelas. It mustconsider the transportation demands of residential projects, andcommercial development for the next years in this municipality.The task will also consider road and traffic conditions andparking demands in the urban core area which affect theoperation of transit services as streets have become congestedwith vehicles.
