An application for key framesOur key frame extraction algorithm is currently being applied in the "Archivio diEtnografia e Storia Sociale - AESS" (Archive of Social History and Ethnography)[39]. The AESS archive has as its purpose the conservation, consultation, andemploy of documents and images regarding the life and social transformation, theliterature, the oral history, and the cultural artifacts of the Lombard region. TheAESS web site have been designed and implemented at the CNR – ITC Unit ofMilan for the project promoted by the Lombard Region, (the Direzione generaleCulture, Identità e Autonomie della Lombardia), and Interreg II Internum projectof the European Union. The archive of the AESS web site stores informationconcerning the oral history of the Lombard region: it is mainly composed ofpopular songs and other audio and video records describing the popular traditionshanded down generation by generation, such as traditional fairs, and customs.
