Giving to the United Way is an excellentway to give back to our community and support thoseneeds.”<strong>Ingalls</strong> employees from all sites gave generouslyincluding more than 60 Old Hickory donors, whopledged more than $1,000 each.Several employee-led drives added to the totalscollected at each site. Gulfport employees, for example,added $500 to their campaign through a hot dog sale.“<strong>Ingalls</strong> employees in Gulfport are very familiar withthe great work that United Way does for those in need,including some of our own employees,” said DonnyDorsey, Gulfport site director.


<strong>Ingalls</strong> Christmas Holiday Schedule 2012-2013With the exception of necessary plant protection and maintenance, the shipyards and all offices at Pascagoula, Avondaleand Gulfport will be closed beginning Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, through Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, for the annual holidayshutdown. The following payment schedule will be followed, except as specifically excluded by union contract:• Pascagoula and Gulfport represented employees only: Friday, Dec. 21, is a five-hour shift.* At Employee DiscretionIn accordance with company policy and labor agreements, each eligible employee:• Shall be paid eight hours per day at the straight time hourly rate for each of the six paid holidays.• May elect to take vacation/PTO (eight hours per day) on the four unpaid shutdown days (Dec. 31 and Jan. 2, 3 and 4) ormay choose to take 0, 1, 2, 3 or all 4 of the shutdown days as unpaid days.In order to meet eligibility requirements, union represented and non-represented, non-exempt employees must have beenemployed by the company for a minimum of 30 calendar days prior to the occurrence of the holiday. Union representedemployees are reminded that they must work the required minimum hours on the last regular workday immediatelypreceding the holidays and the first regular workday immediately following the holidays unless payment is otherwiseprovided in their respective collective bargaining agreement. All employees should report to work at the beginning of theirregular shifts on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, unless otherwise notified by their supervisor.General pay guidelines for work performed during the holiday period are as follows:• All work performed by an employee during the shutdown period must be scheduled and approved by the employee’simmediate management.• All exempt employees below the director level will be eligible for straight-time overtime compensation for hoursworked beginning Dec. 24, 2012, and ending Jan. 6, 2013. Payment of overtime will require the approval of a vice president.Overtime pay will be in addition to holiday pay.• Non-exempt, non-represented employees will be paid time-and-one-half overtime for hours worked during the holidayperiod. Double time will be paid for hours worked on Sunday or if more than 12 consecutive hours are worked during aone-day period.• Represented employees will be paid in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.• The Payroll Department will issue separate guidance regarding the recording of time during the holiday period.Multiple Offender Rule goes into effect Feb. 4, 2013Effective Feb. 4, 2013, <strong>Ingalls</strong> <strong>Shipbuilding</strong> in Pascagoula and Gulfport will amend its current rule platform toinclude a “Multiple Offender Rule” in the progressive discipline policy for represented employees. Violation of thenew rule will be subject to termination when employees receive five written warning notices in any combinationof categories of offenses during any 120-day period. Because the 120-day clean-up period and notification ofimplementation went into effect on Oct. 4, 2012, employees should be careful to adhere to all <strong>Ingalls</strong> <strong>Shipbuilding</strong> rulesand regulations before the rule goes into effect.
