Structure<br />

• Typical production facility employs 50 – 500 people<br />

• More than 1,000 products (different structures,<br />

thicknesses, pr<strong>in</strong>t designs etc)<br />

• Typically 2,000 to 5,000 production orders p.a.<br />

• Little production <strong>for</strong> stock; most is made to satisfy a<br />

particular customer dem<strong>and</strong><br />

• Time from production to despatch – normally 1 to 7 days,<br />

at most 10 days.<br />

• Production personnel are usually not suitable <strong>for</strong> do<strong>in</strong>g<br />

ta<strong>in</strong>t <strong>and</strong> odour test<strong>in</strong>g due to <strong>the</strong>ir exposure to solvents<br />

• From a practical viewpo<strong>in</strong>t, it is impossible to test each<br />

order
