<strong>Spring</strong>/<strong>Summer</strong><strong>2010</strong>ResidenceInformationA resident of New York State is one who hasmaintained legal residence in the State for oneyear and in the County for six months immediatelypreceding the first day of classes. Proof of residencemust be submitted at the time of registrationaccording to the instructions below. Anapplication for Certificate of Residence is printedon this page of the Bulletin to your right for youruse. A new application must accompany alladdress changes.1. <strong>Orange</strong> County Residents:Complete Application for Certificate ofResidence, have it notarized and submitthe completed form to the College atregistration by mail or in person.2. New York State Residents fromCounties other than <strong>Orange</strong>County: Complete Application forCertificate of Residence and turn it into your County Treasurer. You willreceive a Certificate of Residence fromthe Treasurer. Submit this form to theCollege at registration by mail or inperson. Students who fail to submit avalid Certificate of Residence will becharged double tuition.3. New York State Residents whohave lived in more than one county duringthe past 6 months must complete anApplication for Certificate of Residencefor each county in which they haveresided and proceed as indicated in (1)and (2) of these instructions.4. Non-residents of New YorkState (living less than one year in theState) are charged out-of-state tuitionand do not need to submit proof ofresidence at registration. 5. All foreign students who havenot held a permanent residentalien card for one year are classifiedas out-of-state residents andpay out-of-state tuition.
