Themain attraction and the reason people visit this beautiful boutiquewinery in the wilder, northernmost reaches of the Napa Valley almostat the foot of the Palisades, is to be found in the glass. And, of course,in the wine aging in the oak barrels at this country winery with itspicture perfect setting.Surrounding the winery are almost two dozen acres of vines. Theyinclude the Villa Andriana Vineyard, planted with Zinfandel, the veryrare Charbono (it is said there are less than a hundred acres planted inthe entire world) and the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that go into apremium wine named after the daughter of owners Jim and BethSummers. Called Andriana’s Cuvee, this deep, rich and complex winehas been an award winner since the very first vintage.The tasting room at Summers Estate Wines is open every day from10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. It is located at 1171 Tubbs Lane just a fewminutes north of Calistoga.
