BURNSIDE HOME ASSIST SOCIAL SUPPORT ACTIVITIESFor enquiries on our social activities contact Home Assist program on8366 4166.Mystery Afternoon Bus Trips – Mystery Trip and afternoon tea on the 2ndand 4th Wednesday of each month from 1.30pm to 4pm. Cost for bus is $7,afternoon tea extra. Bus leaves from behind the Masonic Hall. Supportprovided by the Burnside Rotary club. Limited transport available.To Market, To Market – Visit the Central Market for shopping andmorning tea. From 9am to 12noon on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of eachmonth. Bus leaves from behind the Masonic Hall and transport home canbe provided. Cost for bus $5.Lunch & Library Trip – Enjoy a tasty hot meal in the Burnside CommunityCentre dining room followed by a visit to the Library to choose books orread the latest magazines. On the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, pickupsbegin at 11.30am and return home is at 2pm. Cost of bus is a gold coindonation. See page 18 for lunch information and cost.Movie Trip - Enjoy a new release movie at the Chelsea Cinema. Held onthe 3rd Friday of each month. Times and Movie will be advised a weekbefore the trip. Cost of bus is a gold coin donation.Half Day Bus Trip - Join us on a bus trip and enjoy a tasty lunch. Held onthe 1st Friday of each month from 11am to 3pm. Door to door transportavailable. Bookings are essential as this trip is very popular. Cost of bus$5.Cooking for Men – 6 week basic cooking course for older men living in theBurnside area. These relaxed, hands-on classes are held weekly in theBurnside Community Centre. Cost for 6 week course is $60 which includestaking home the meal you cooked.Community Information Sessions – Burnside Aged Care Programprovides free monthly sessions on topics of interest to older people andtheir families.
