Local students can opt out of <strong>the</strong> medical insurance if students can provide proof of adequatemedical insurance coverage.** The Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) aims to protect students’ paid fees in accordance with a master insurance policy, standard student contract and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Curtin</strong><strong>Singapore</strong> refund policy.Note 1: all fees are inclusive of seven percent GST.Note 2: <strong>the</strong> tuition fees (shown in <strong>Singapore</strong>an dollars) are based on a normal full-time workload of 100 credits per trimester unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise stated. <strong>Student</strong>sstudying more than 100 credits per trimester will have a higher annual tuition fee. Course changes will attract fee rates applicable at that time. A student shouldexpect that <strong>the</strong> indicative trimester course fee, as shown on <strong>the</strong> letter of offer, might vary from <strong>the</strong> actual tuition fee according to <strong>the</strong> units (subjects) undertaken.The indicative fee is a guide as to what <strong>the</strong> actual tuition fee will be, because <strong>the</strong> actual tuition fee is not calculated until enrolment is completed. To calculate <strong>the</strong>actual course fee, you can refer to <strong>the</strong> unit (subject) fee that is listed at curtin.edu.sg (refer to <strong>the</strong> ‘Fees’ section of <strong>the</strong> menu). FeeS27PAYMENT OF FEESAll fees, charges and accounts will be payable in advanceas determined by <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong>. Fees payable to <strong>Curtin</strong><strong>Singapore</strong> should be paid in <strong>Singapore</strong>an dollars directly to<strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong> only by bank cheque, international bankdraft or telegraphic transfer. Part-time students can payper module, per trimester (most part-time students studytwo modules per trimester). <strong>Student</strong>s will not be permittedto commence or continue <strong>the</strong>ir course at <strong>the</strong> beginning ofany trimester until all outstanding fees, charges or accountsare paid. <strong>Student</strong>s will be charged <strong>the</strong> full amount forrepeating units.STUDENT REFUND AGREEMENTNew studentsTotal refundWhere an offer of a place is withdrawn, a visa denied or <strong>Curtin</strong><strong>Singapore</strong> is unable to provide a course, all tuition fees arefully refundable. If <strong>the</strong> offer was made on <strong>the</strong> basis of incorrector incomplete information supplied by <strong>the</strong> applicant/student,<strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong> reserves <strong>the</strong> right to retain 10 percent of <strong>the</strong>tuition fee for one trimester. For prospective students withconditional offers, if conditions stipulated in <strong>the</strong> letter of offercannot be met, all tuition fees are fully refundable.Partial refundNew students who, after accepting an offer of a place, give atleast 10 weeks’ notice prior to <strong>the</strong> start of trimester that <strong>the</strong>yare unable to take up <strong>the</strong> offer, will receive a refund of tuitionfees paid, less an administrative fee of SG$550. New studentswho, after accepting an offer of a place, give less than 10 weeks’notice prior to commencement of <strong>the</strong> trimester that <strong>the</strong>y areunable to take up <strong>the</strong> offer, will receive a refund of tuition feespaid, less 10 percent of tuition fees for one trimester.New students who withdraw from <strong>the</strong>ir enrolled course after<strong>the</strong> start of <strong>the</strong> trimester, but prior to <strong>the</strong> census date,* willreceive a refund of 50 percent of tuition fees paid for thattrimester. New students with an initial enrolment greater than75 credits in <strong>the</strong> trimester, who subsequently reduce <strong>the</strong>irstudy load to 75 credits for any reason prior to <strong>the</strong> censusdate,* will receive a credit of <strong>the</strong> tuition fees paid in respect of<strong>the</strong> unit/s from which <strong>the</strong>y have withdrawn. The credit shall beused towards future studies in <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong>.No refundWhere fraudulent or forged documentation has beenpresented, <strong>the</strong> full first trimester tuition fee will be retained by<strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong>. New students who withdraw from a courseor units after <strong>the</strong> census date* are not eligible for a refund.Continuing studentsTotal refundContinuing students who, after completion of <strong>the</strong> enrolmentprocess, subsequently withdraw from <strong>the</strong>ir course prior to <strong>the</strong>commencement of <strong>the</strong> trimester, will not incur a fee liability.Partial refundContinuing students who completely withdraw from <strong>the</strong>ircourse prior to <strong>the</strong> census date* will receive a refund of 50percent of tuition fees paid for <strong>the</strong> trimester.Continuing students with an initial enrolment greater than75 credits in <strong>the</strong> study period, who subsequently reduce <strong>the</strong>irstudy load to 75 credits for any reason prior to <strong>the</strong> censusdate,* will receive a credit of <strong>the</strong> tuition fees paid in respect of<strong>the</strong> unit/s from which <strong>the</strong>y have withdrawn.
