A prayer room is available for useby students.<strong>Student</strong> Committee: consists of selected, dedicated currentstudents who organise and hold activities for all studentson and off campus. <strong>Student</strong>s interested in volunteering <strong>the</strong>irservices can submit an application to <strong>Student</strong> Central.<strong>Student</strong> activities: <strong>the</strong>re is a wide range of activities onoffer, from trips to attractions like Universal Studios toadventurous expeditions like kayaking and cycling at PulauUbin. <strong>Student</strong>s who are looking for something challengingcan take part in <strong>the</strong> many competitions we organise,such as pool, basketball and street soccer. Taking part in<strong>the</strong>se activities allows students to have a good time, getto know fellow students and discover <strong>Singapore</strong>. <strong>Student</strong>scan even suggest new activities by getting in touch with<strong>Student</strong> Central.LEARNINGOrientation: a compulsory session that will assistnew students to settle in comfortably and complete alladministration procedures before <strong>the</strong> start of trimester.Orientation also informs students of important student andacademic matters. <strong>International</strong> students will be requiredto sign <strong>the</strong> student contract and submit original documentsfor verification.<strong>Student</strong> Central: one-stop enquiry and assistanceservices and <strong>the</strong> first port of call for all day-to-dayadministrative matters. <strong>Student</strong> Central is located oncampus at Block D, Level 1, and can be contacted onstudentcentral@curtin.edu.sgStudy and discussion rooms: conducive environment forself-study and group discussions that is equipped withprojectors for students’ presentation practices.Computer and gymnasium facilities: access to computerlaboratories and gym is available for use by students.WELLBEINGAccommodation: <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong> will assist studentsseeking accommodation. Upon accepting <strong>the</strong>ir offer,students will receive an accommodation booking formexplaining <strong>the</strong>ir options in advance. There are manyaccommodation options available such as public HousingDevelopment Board (HDB) flats, private houses, and privateor public hostels.Counselling Services: an independent and confidentialarena to discuss issues of concern that may not be easilycommunicated with family or friends. <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong>’scounselling service is free, confidential, and available to allenrolled students, allowing you talk through any problemsto prevent <strong>the</strong>m from escalating. An appointment can bemade through <strong>Student</strong> Central.Disability services: assistance to students who requirepermanent or temporary disability assistance. The relevantcompleted form and supporting documents should beprovided to <strong>Student</strong> Central.Smoke-free campus: <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong> Campus iscompletely smoke-free, providing a safe and healthyenvironment to students and staff.Grievances and appeals: <strong>the</strong>re are official procedures toassist current students to resolve concerns about academicand o<strong>the</strong>r matters, which are set out in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong><strong>Student</strong> Handbook.
