5 Call Control commands5.1 Dial command D5.1.1 Description :The <strong>AT</strong>D command is used to set a voice, data or fax call. As per <strong>GSM</strong> 02.30, the dial commandalso controls supplementary services.For a data or a fax call, the application sends the following ASCII string to the product (the bearermust be previously selected with the +CBST command):<strong>AT</strong>D where is the destination phone number.For a voice call, the application sends the following ASCII string to the product: (the bearer may beselected previously, if not a default bearer is used).<strong>AT</strong>D; where is the destination phone number.Please note that for an international number, the local international prefix does not need to be set(usually 00) but does need to be replaced by the ‘+’character.Example: to set up a voice call to <strong>GiSMo</strong> offices from another country, the <strong>AT</strong> command is:“<strong>AT</strong>D+33146290800;”Note that some countries may have specific numbering rules for their <strong>GSM</strong> handset numbering.The response to the <strong>AT</strong>D command is one of the following:Verbose result code Numeric code (with Description<strong>AT</strong>V0 set)OK 0 if the call succeeds, for voice call onlyCONNECT 10,11,12,13,14,15 if the call succeeds, for data calls only, takesthe value negotiated by the product.BUSY 7 If the called party is already in communicationNO ANSWER 8 If no hang up is detected after a fixed network time-outNO CARRIER 3 Call setup failed or remote user release. Use the<strong>AT</strong>+CEER command to know the failure causeDirect dialling from a phonebook (stored in the SIM card) can be performed with the followingcommand:<strong>AT</strong>D> ; to call from the selected phonebook (by the +CPBS command)<strong>AT</strong>D> “BILL”; to call “BILL”from the selected phonebook<strong>AT</strong>D> mem (mem is “SM","LD","MC","ME","RC","MT" or "SN",see +CPBS command) allows direct dialling from a phonebook number.
