Our populationhit an all-time highduring the spring session,employment is upnearly 9,000 and housingstarts are up over 200 percent.”MLA for Arm River-<strong>Watrous</strong> Greg Brkichsaid the SaskatchewanParty passed 49 pieces oflegislation while spendingmore wisely as theeconomy continued toget stronger.Surgical wait timeswere also reduced overthe past two years as thenumber of people waitingmore than 18 monthsfor surgery has been decreasedby 39 per centand the number of peoplewaiting more than 12months was reduced by22 per cent.Wait times have declinedmost significantlyin orthopaedics andoverall surgeries haveincreased with about77,000 completed in theprovince, up 1,800 overthe previous year.Brkich said the populationhas also reachedan all-time high, fundingis available for thelong-term care facility in<strong>Watrous</strong> and work is beingdone on Hwy. 2. TheMLA said Hwy. 15 is stilla priority for him andhe is working on gettingthat taken care of.However, NDP MLAfor Saskatoon <strong>Centre</strong>David Forbes felt the currentgovernment was pittingpeople against eachother. Forbes also indicatedhousing is a bigissue. “People are talkingabout affordability. At 85 years of age, Olive was very interestedin and supportive of any and all activities of her familyand friends. Her health challenges were mitigated withthe help of her extended family at the Long Lake ValleyIntegrated Facility in Imperial where she was a residentfor the past 2 1/2 years. Olive spent weekends at homein Liberty with her beloved husband, Ivan with whomshe had been married for 56 years. She kept in touch andloved to hear what was going on in everyone’s busy lives.Olive and Ivan were married in Scarborough, Ont. in 1953and moved to Saskatchewan shortly after, where theytook up farming west of Liberty. For a number of wintersthey would return to Ontario where Ivan worked asa mechanic and kept close ties with their families. Oliveloved farm life and raising their three children. She wasan avid gardener, producing exquisite flowers and bountifulvegetables and fruits, resulting in wonderful homecooked meals. They moved into Liberty in 1972. Comingfrom a close-knit family of nine who were very musical,their family reunions were fun-filled celebrations heldin Prince Edward Island, Ontario and Saskatchewan.She was a person who loved people and was ready andwilling to try or have you try just about anything andsupported everyone’s life adventures and achievements.Olive leaves to mourn her husband Ivan Drimmie;daughter Terry; sons Randy (Arlene) and Kelvin (Connie);granddaughters Amber and Sarah; sisters BessieMcGill and Irene Cantwell; sisters-in-law Mary, Rose andEleanor Wheeler; brother-in-law Roy Hudson and numerousnieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her parents, Christopherand Jean Wheeler; sisters Marjorie Hudson and MabelWheeler; brothers Frank, Jim (Mary), Edward (Rose)and Munroe (Eleanor) Wheeler and brother-in-law JimCantwell.Funeral service was held at the Liberty MemorialHall on <strong>May</strong> 26 conducted by Rev.
