Theworld-famous attraction is the largestbulb flower park in the world, covering 32hectares and featuring 4.5 million tulips in100 varieties. There are also 87 varieties oftrees, creating 2,500 shady spots. The parkis open for two months each year, duringwhich time bulb buyers visit to determinefrom which growers and what varietiesthey will purchase that year.–– photos submitted by Marla and Ray SuikBy Daniel BushmanTWMDespite meeting withthe CEO of St. Peter’s andCarlton Trail Regional Collegeabout the potentialmerger of the two, <strong>Watrous</strong>town council members feltthey have not received adequateanswers and issueda release about their frustrations.However, commentsfrom Glen Kobussenand minister of advancededucation, employmentand labour Rob Norrisseem to indicate that programmingwill continue in<strong>Watrous</strong>.After several weeks ofdiscussion, investigationand meetings, council decidedto go public with itsconcerns about the proposedamalgamation of St.Peter’s College with CarltonTrail Regional College,which offers programs intown like licensed practicalnursing and pre-employmentelectrical.Council member RalphEliasson said disappointmentmounted after attendingnumerous meetings,including gettingtogether with CEO of St.Peter’s College and CarltonTrail Regional CollegeGlen Kobussen. “We requestedanswers to specificquestions and asked forcopies of financial statementsand business plans.. .
