5. INSTALLATION AND START-UP5.1 General informationa- SESAME may get all lots from one bidder.b- The contractor will specify the cables for the connections of the different controlsystem components at an early stage of the contract execution.c- For the setup, the manufacture shall write an installation manual that will bedelivered to SESAME at least 6 weeks before the system delivery. This manualshall contain all the important information for the startup procedure. In addition,the contractor shall supply all the special material required for the setup.d- The electrical power installed by SESAME. The low voltage fluctuations atSESAME are ± 1% of the nominal voltage. Radiation monitors must haveswitched mode power supplies.e- Earth connection labeling is proposed and labeled by the bidder. (See Annex 4 forlabeling examples)5:2 Responsibilities of SESAME:a) - Doing all the installation of the system.b) - Earth connections: SESAME shall do the earth connection from each station to theconnection point nearby provided by SESAME as well.c) - Connection of interlock cables from the radiation monitors to PSS.d) - Cable trays installation.e) - Installation of local plugs for data transmission “Serial or Ethernet sockets” in thehall around the Booster tunnel nearby each of the monitor station and One in the ControlRoom.f) - Electrical Power plugs (MK sockets, 230V, 50Hz) nearby each of the monitorstations.g) - Cabling from data connection points to the Control room.h)- Setup and start-up test (functioning and verification) will be done in situ, includingthe configuration of the Powerful computer workstation in the control room.i)- Powerful computer workstation will be supplied and installed by SESAME in thecontrol room and installation the software as well.5:3 Noise levela- The different radiation monitors are located in place where the noise andelectromagnetic emissions shall be kept under control.b- During the production of these devices, the supplier should proof that theserequirements have been followed. The proof shall be attached with the deliverydocumentation. NO electromagnetic signal (apart from X and Gamma rays) will affect tothe detectors.c- Chapter 9 and 11 of the applicable standards IEC 60846 and 61005 respectively withreference to the IEC 61000 relevant (or equivalent standards) should be fulfilled.d- In particular, SESAME uses a remote control for the Experimental Hall crane with afrequency range of 914.150 to 915.875MHz. This radio frequency should not have anyinfluence on the measurement devices.12
6. COMMISSIONING, TECHNICAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL ACCEPTANCEa) The radiation monitors (for Gamma and neutrons) will be switched on andcommissioned under SESAME supervision after the delivery.b) All the radiation monitors will be tested outside booster tunnel using theradiations coming from both 22.5MeV Microtron and up to 800MeV boosterelectron beams either separated or combined.d) Right reserved: SESAME has the reserved right to purchasing of further monitorsfor extra local measurement sites of neutron and Gamma that follow thespecification and are compatible with the connections and software with thequantities already delivered. SESAME has the right of doing that in a 5 yearsperiod after the contract signature.e) SESAME asking for two years guarantee against failure due to faulty design,components failure, faulty manufacture and/or due any other failure starting fromdelivery date at SESAME site.7. HEALTH AND SAFETY ASPECTS FOR THE EQUIPMENTAll the supplied components shall follow the CE regulations regarding all the radiationsafety issues and other safety regulations, although they are not explicitly written in thepresent document.8. PACKING AND TRANSPORTATIONa. All the equipment object of the present document shall be safely packed andtransported at the expense of the contractor.b. The transfer of risks to SESAME will take place when the equipment is safely laiddown on the floor at SESAME site.c. One month before the equipment delivery, the contractor(s) shall send a parcel listshowing the content and weight of each parcel.d. All the packing, transport and insurance expenses will be included in thecommercial offer.9. TENDERING DOCUMENTATION9:1 SESAME contact personSESAME needs to be assured that the suppliers understand the requirements andimplications of these specifications. If the suppliers have any doubts as to theirinterpretation, they are encouraged to contact SESAME and discuss details of all enquiresof a technical nature.
