Hillsborough County Chapter Page 5Beamer’s Biz - Chapter Secretary - P/R & Communications TrusteeHi All -Most of you already know me as the fun loving, go getter that Iam. I have matured a lot being in ABATE all these years and I hope tobring all that and more to the Secretary's Position for our chapter.Spooks N Scoots is right around the corner and we will needall the help we can get. A couple of people were talking (at the lastmeeting) about bringing friends of theirs to the event and asked if peoplehave to be a member to help. The answer to that question is No, but what we really need aresober, mature (over 18) folks to help us get this event done. So invitingfriends and family is Great, but please remember anyone who volunteers to help is areflection of our chapter and needs to be "on their game 100%". The heat has beenterrible + all the rain has not allowed much time for riding this summer, but when I doget a chance to go out, it always reminds me that there are so many of us on the roadjust trying to enjoy what we love most. Be alert and ride smart ! Not very many vehiclesare looking for us or care too much what happens to us, so you gotta ride safe and sober....Can't wait to see you all at Spooks - let's make out 30th Anniversary the best oneever !!With Much Love & Light,*Beamer*Sgt. At Arms - Safety Director - Jim Cass30th Anniversary Spooks and Scoots is coming! Like every year, weneed your help. Whether you come out to camp for the weekend, orcan only help us set-up on Thursday morning or break-down on Sundaymorning, we can really use any help offered. There are many shiftsneeded in Security, and we have positions for just about any ability. Also, the Products tent always needs help as well. All the shifts areeasy, and dont last too long...it only gets difficult when there are too few volunteers for the numberof shifts needed, and those few get overworked. I invite you to come out, have a great time atSpooks, and help your fellow brothers and sisters out by donating a few hours of your time. Seeyou there…Fellow chapter members, as our chapter Safety Director, I wanted to share a little bit of commonpractice that we all tend to overlook. This time of year it's hot, it rains a lot, and there are lots ofbugs at night. With this time of year comes varying tire pressures, so check yours everyweek. When you are checking tire pressures, check all your lights (headlight, tail/brake lights, turnsignals (if you've got them). Also, clean your windshield. Those dried bugs, roadway grime anddried rain drops add up, and make your job of riding safely more difficult than it has to be. Plus, when it does rain and you get caught in it, your clean but wet windshield will be much easier tosee through than dirty.Ride safe… Jim
