VICTORIA FILM FESTIVAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TRIGGER POINTS PACIFIC VICTORIA VICTORIA FILM FILM FESTIVAL FESTIVAL presents Runs the fi rst weekend of the Victoria Film Festival and brings together producers and top industry acquisition execs to explore buying completed productions or putting them into development. An exclusive intimate setting provides producers with unequaled access as TPP maintains a ratio of one acquisitions exec for every two producers registered and presents fantastic market intelligence panels. This is the place to Pitch. Hosted by Pat Ferns and Sheena Macdonald. June. Come play with cameras. computers and creativity and discover the amazing and exciting world of fi lm. With some of the industry’s top professionals, we offer the chance to experience over 18 hands-on workshops. The Festival includes FREE fi lm screenings and demonstrations and nominally priced workshops that let the creativity fl ow. August. Come and enjoy a movie under the stars, with great line-ups of B-movies from the “Family-Friendly” to the “Funky and Fun”. Yes, screenings are absolutely free. Just bring your own snacks, fl ashlights and blankets. VICTORIA FILM FESTIVAL presents INTERACTIVE FUTURES \ E V E N T Mid November. A playful mix of art and new technologies showing recent tendencies in new media as well as a conference for exploring issues related to technology with world class media artists. Exploring a different theme each year this event keeps you attuned to industry trends and movements through presentations, installations, and panels. FilmCAN FilmCAN November - January. An opportunity for local high school students to create a short video from beginning to end and have it screened at the Victoria Film Festival. Guided by local notable professional fi lmmakers, students are mentored and receive advice and information to create new work. M yVictoria Victoria VIDEO COMPETITION November - January. A video competition to create a 1 minute fi lm about what most affects and interests you about Victoria. The competition is open to all ages and skill levels and is designed to encourage the budding fi lmmaker in everyone. All videos are displayed at downtown businesses and winners take away great prizes.
