Brammer backs EDF Energy’s Paralympics fundraising effort Brammer, the UK’s leading supplier of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products, is supporting EDF Energy’s Central Technical Organisation (CTO) Charity Cycle Challenge with a sponsorship of £2,000. Between 14 and 16 June, a team of up to 30 cyclists from leading energy provider EDF Energy will travel 205 miles from Paris to London. The team will fly Brammer’s company flag during the challenge, as well as sporting Brammer’s logo on the front and back of their cycling shirts. With a fundraising target of £30,000, all money raised will go to the British Paralympic Association. The EDF Energy CTO Charity Cycle Challenge team Ian Ritchie, managing director of Brammer UK, commented: “It is a privilege to sponsor EDF Energy’s CTOCharity Cycle Challenge. Not only is the journey a fantastic achievement by all of the team involved, but the money raised is going to a very worthy cause.” Geoff Ford, EDF Energy’s Fleet Contract Manager, said: “We’d like to thank Brammer for their generous sponsorship of the EDF Energy CTO Cycle Challenge. As the company’s charity partner, EDF Energy has worked closely with the British Paralympic Association over the past two years, and know that the money raised will go to a great cause – ensuring that the biggest, best prepared team of athletes can compete this year at the home Games.” Exclusive new range of renewable heat exchange and cleaning fluids for heat pumps and solar Climate Center has signed an exclusive agreement with Advanced Engineering to distribute a new range of heat exchange and maintenance chemicals for use in heat pumps and solar heating. The range includes six heat transfer and flushing fluids specially formulated for use with heat pumps and solar-powered heating systems. Climate Center’s Robert Franklin said: “As gas and electricity prices escalate, renewable heating is becoming increasingly attractive to businesses and consumers. However, like all systems, they need proper maintenance to ensure they continue to perform efficiently.” Advanced’s new range includes TerraFlow, a specialist heat transfer fluid for use in heat pump-based boilers, and two versions of StellarFlow, optimised for use in both flat plate and vacuum tube solar heating. The fluids have been formulated to remain fully active for up to five years and protect systems from ice and bacterial growth. They are supplemented by a comprehensive set of cleaning solutions. Colin Pratt, technical director of Advanced, says: “As with acr plant, renewable systems are prone to sludge build-up over time and, ultimately, pipe blockages, if not properly maintained. We have developed the new flushing solutions, TerraFlush and StellarFlush, to safely remove dirt deposits from piping, improving reliability and performance.” In addition, PrepFlush is a precommissioning liquid ensures that piping is free from dust and detritus, prior to installation.
