Activated Training <strong>Course</strong>: Many of the issues that could come up are already covered inclasses, so we include references to the <strong>12</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> <strong>Stones</strong> classes and Study Notes. (References tothe <strong>12</strong> Bridges have not been included, as that course was not ready at the time of writing this.)Nine Categories of Subject Matter1. Answering questions and addressing issuesThis category is for your information rather than being a list of materials to give. It gives generalcounsel on how to answer questions and address issues that arise. It contains important tipsabout avoiding rigid or dogmatic teaching, the balance between what we know and what we shouldteach, and also points on shepherding the students.2. DoctrineThis is divided into two sections: “Basic Doctrine” which is mostly dealing with subjects that arecovered at least partially in the <strong>12</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> <strong>Stones</strong> course and/or the “Statement of Faith.” “VariousDoctrine” covers other aspects of our beliefs.3. The Spirit WorldThis has five sections of information dealing with everything from angels to exorcism to universalreconciliation and much more. You should be able to answer most questions pertaining to thespiritual world, its inhabitants, its mysteries and our communications with the world beyond fromthis category.4. ReligionThis has five sections of information explaining the teachings of the world’s faiths, religiouspractices, differences between Christian denominations. It also deals with those who opposereligion, and religious persecution. There is an important section about what our attitude asChristians should be towards those who differ from us.5. The WorldThis has five sections of information about the world today and contains our views on manyissues, some of which could be controversial depending on whom you are talking with. It alsocontains a section on what our attitudes as Christians should be towards the world.6. Life IssuesThis category will probably be the most useful in shepherding your students. It is divided intoseven sections: health care and fitness; health problems and cures; life and death (includes aging);children and parenting; sex, relationships and marriage; help in life’s crises.14 Chapter 2: Issues—Pubs Lists and Tips
