Introducing Dad to friends (from Maria #73)I thought that the way your Home introduced Dad to your friends was good. You may havebeen a little slow about it, but you weren’t sure how your friends would react, so you were cautious,which was good. You let them read some Letters without telling them who wrote them. Thisis what we did with our early disciples. They read the lit, but they didn’t know who it was comingfrom. They got so hooked on the lit, they loved it, and by the time they found out who wrote it,they were already hooked!—They loved the author’s words, so they loved the author. You couldhave told them it was written by the Pope and they would have loved the Pope!—In other words,it didn’t matter who it was written by because they loved it, and they knew it was true, and it hadhelped to change their lives! After your friends had been reading the Letters and were hooked, thenyou explained about Dad, and no matter what bad news they’d heard about him, it didn’t phasethem because they knew he had good fruit and they knew it was the truth.At first you started with the basic Bible lessons and classes which the Catholics believe andrespect, and then you went from there to DMs and milky Letters, and then finally when yourfriends really got to the point where they were receptive to everything and the Word was changingthem, then by the time you explained who Dad was, it didn’t bother your friends at all, no matterwhat lies they might have heard about him, because they knew they couldn’t be true! So maybethat is the best way to do it, maybe it is best to go a little bit slow. But time is short!—We can’tdrag it out too long.Once they say, “These things are wonderful! They really speak to me! They’re really the truth,give me more!” and they put their stamp of approval on them, then, if you tell them who theauthor is, they can hardly change their mind. When they’re so receptive to what the author hasto say, they can hardly turn around and say they don’t like the author.
