2005 SJI Standard Specification forJoist Girders1004.9 UPLIFTWhere uplift forces due to wind are a design requirement, theseforces must be indicated on the contract drawings in terms ofNET uplift in pounds per square foot (Pascals). The contractdrawings must indicate if the net uplift is based on ASD orLRFD. When these forces are specified, they must beconsidered in the design of Joist Girders and/or bracing.
