Discipline Report Totals 2003-2004Will go hereSchool Safety Audit Report2003-2004The school safety audit began at Patrick Henry High School on December 9,2003. The purpose of the audit was to determine compliance with the regulations of theVirginia Department of Education. In order to provide a safe teaching and learningenvironment the following commendations and recommendations were made by theaudit team.Commendations:• The building is clean, attractive, well maintained, and has proper lighting.• The School Resource Officer provides a visible and regular presenceduring the school day.• The students are well supervised by school staff.• The school has an effective Crisis Management Plan supported bypractice drills and communication exercises.Recommendations:• All exterior doors with the exception of the main entrances should belocked.• Students, staff, and administration should receive periodic review of theConflict Resolutions Process.• Security and safety would be enhanced by wearing badges/name tags forstaff, substitute, personnel and visitors.• All doors should be clearly marked indicating a designated entrance to thebuilding.• Security cameras should be installed to monitor the west parking lot andentrance.16
