Safety precautions 3nsSwitch off in hospitals or in thevicinity of medical devices, e.g.hearing aids. Mobile phonescan interfere with the function ofthese devices. A minimum distanceof 20 cm between pacemakerand mobile phone shouldbe kept. When using the mobilephone hold it to the ear which isfurther removed from the pacemaker.Always use the handsfree kit forcalls while driving (p. 91).Mobile phones must beswitched off at all times in an aircraft.To prevent accidental activation,see (p. 53).Switch off near petrol stations,fuel depots, chemical plants orblasting operations. Mobilephones can interfere with theoperation of technical installations.The ring tone and handsfreetalking are reproduced via theloudspeaker. Do not hold thephone to the ear when it rings orwhen you have activated thehandsfree function. Otherwiseyou risk serious, lasting damageto hearing.SIM card may be removed. Getting Started 5The front and back covers of the casing (CLIPit Covers, my-CLIPit: p. 13 andp. 90) as well as the keypad can be changed in a matter of seconds - no toolsrequired. Please switch the phone off first:To attachTo removeNoteYour phone's display and the display cover of the top shell are delivered with a protective film.Remove this film before getting started.In rare cases the static discharge may cause discolouration at the edges of the display. Howeverthis will disappear within 10 minutes.To avoid damage to the display, the phone should not be used without the upper shell.

6Insert SIM card/batteryThe service provider supplies youwith a SIM card on which all the importantdata for your line is stored. Ifthe SIM card has been delivered incredit card size, snap the smallersegment out and remove any roughedges.• Press grooved area , then liftcover in the direction indicated bythe arrow.Getting Started• Insert SIM card in the opening,contacts pointing downwards(make sure the angled corner is incorrect position ). Getting Started 7Charge batteryThe battery is not fully chargedwhen delivered. Plug in the chargercable at the bottom of the phone,plug in the power supply unit to themains power socket and charge forleast two hours.hDisplay when charging isin progressCharging timeAn empty battery is fully charged afterabout 2 hours. Charging is onlypossible in an ambient temperatureof 5°C to 40°C (the charge icon flashesas a warning when the temperatureis 5°C above/below this range).The voltage specified on the powersupply unit must not be exceeded.To use the full performance of thebattery, the battery must be fullycharged and discharged at least fivetimes.Charge icon not visibleIf the battery is totally discharged nocharge icon is displayed when thecharger is plugged in. It is displayedafter 2 hours at most. In this casethe battery is fully charged after3-4 hours.Only use the charger provided!Display while in serviceCharge level display during operation(empty-full):a d gA beep sounds when the battery isnearly empty.
