In the area of Group interestis:• Sensors for physical quantities measurement(flow sensors, temperature and pressure),• Signal processing systems,• Data acquisition systems, means of resultspresentation and also problems of equipmentcontrol (pumps, valves, and heaters).Research Group on Automatic Test Systems(Head – Professor Konrad Hejn, 4 members) consistsof researchers involved in analogue to digitalconversion techniques:• Delta - sigma modulators,• Highly efficient decimators,• DSP algorithms,• VXI/SCPI technology.VHDL modeling and simulation are the main topicsof the research conducted. To provide a bridgebetween DSP theory and the physical world ofanalogue to the digital converter’s circuit the Groupis always at the centre of interest.Research Group on Optoelectronic Circuits(Head – Kazimierz Jedrzejewski, Ph.D., 8 members)is involved in:• Optoelectronic metrology in laboratory andindustry,• Optical fiber technology,• Solitons and nonlinear fiber optics,• Optical fiber devices,• Multicomponent and fluoride glass fibers,• Optical fiber sensors,• Image processing,• Optical computing,• Photonic oriented network measuring systemsand interfaces under WWW.Research Group on Neural Networks andAdaptive Measurement Systems(Head - Stanislaw Jankowski Ph.D., 3 members)conducts research in the fields of:• Artificial neural networks (theory, applicationsand electronic implementation),• Cellular neural networks and adaptive methodsin coincidence measurement.PERG (Photonics and Web Engineering ResearchGroup) Laboratory(Head - Ryszard Romaniuk, Ph.D., 2 members).carries out research in the domain of distributedmeasuring systems and Electronics for HEP (HighEnergy Physics), maintain several web informationand measuring servers under the addressnms.ise.pw.edu.pl, perg.elka.pw.edu.pl. The Groupcooperates closely with Dept. of Chemistry,Technical Physics, and Environmental Engineering ofour University and with Institute of ExperimentalPhysics Warsaw University. PERG Group maintainsseveral active web servers, among them:experimental meteorological server, data base server,and student work server.- 12 -
