INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS - Annual Report 20024. RESEARCH PROJECTS4.1. Projects granted by the UniversityUniversity Priority Research Programme"MICROSYSTEMS - DESIGN,CONSTRUCTION, TECHNOLOGY"June 2001 – June 2003[Pro.1] Ryszard Jachowicz, Professor – Co-ordinatorof the project: “Microsystems – Constructions,Design, Technology”, (in Polish – Mikrosystemy– konstrukcje, projektowanie, technologie).Participants: M. Baszun Ph.D., ProfessorRomuald Beck, Professor Zbigniew Brzózka,Professor Z. Drozd, Professor Jerzy Kruszewski,Professor Malgorzata Kujawinska, Professor JanOgrodzki, Leszek Opalski Ph.D. The projectintegrates 8 different research groups from 3different Faculties, Warsaw University ofTechnology, involved in microsensors, microactuators and microsystems development. The universal tools for microsystems modelingand design, some dedicated processes forstructure fabrication and measurement methodsfor microsystems testing, calibration andvalidation will be workout within the project. The project will be 4 years long and this is thesecond year of its performance.University Priority Research Programme„DYNAMIKA UKLADÓWZLOZONYCH”September 2002 – May 2003[Pro.2] Stanislaw Jankowski, Ph.D. – Head of theproject: "Morphological Analysis of ECGHolter Recordings by Support VectorMachines”, (in Polish - Analiza morfologicznasygnalu elektrokardiograficznego w zapisieHoltera za pomoca maszyny wektorów nosnych). The goal of the project is to develop a newmethod of automatic recognition of selectedmorphological features of the heartbeat from theHolter ECG recordings. The mathematical basisof this method is a theory of new learning system– support vector machines. The project is focusedon the recognition of pathological features of STsegment. The research is performed incollaboration with Professor J.J. Zebrowski,Faculty of Physics, Warsaw University ofTechnology.Projects granted by the RectorDecember 2002 – February 2003[Pro.3] Ryszard Jachowicz, Professor – Head of theproject: “Microsystem for Human SkinMoisture Measurements”, (in Polish - Projektmikrosystemu do pomiaru parametrów skóryludzkiej).Projects granted by the Dean of the FacultyJune 2001 – May 2002[Pro.4] Bohdan Butkiewicz, Ph.D. – Head of theproject: “Description of Degradation Processin Thermistor Ceramics (Mn,Cu,Co,Ni) 3 O 4and Relaxation Process in Ternary VitreousChalcogenide (As,Ge,Sb) Using FuzzyModels”, (in Polish – Opis procesu degradacjiw ceramice termistorowej (Mn,Cu,Co,Ni) 3 O 4oraz procesu relaksacji w ternarnychchalkogenach szklistych (As,Ge, Sb) za pomocamodeli rozmytych).[Pro.5] Kazimierz Jedrzejewski, Ph.D. – Head ofthe project: “Semiconductor Laser Source forActive Fiber Pumping“, (in Polish - Laserowezródlo o mocy 110mW do pompowaniaswiatlowodu aktywnego).[Pro.6] Stanislaw Jankowski, Ph.D. – Head of theproject: “Maximal Margin Method ofClassification and Approximation –Algorithms and Applications in Technologyand Medicine”, (in Polish – Klasyfikacja iaproksymacja metoda maksymalnegomarginesu – algorytmy i zastosowaniatechniczne i medyczne).[Pro.7] Jerzy Szabatin, Professor – Head of theproject: "New Adaptive Methods andAlgorithms for Signal Processing in thePresence of Non-Gaussian Disturbances.Applications to Blind Detection of Signals inCDMA Systems and Parametric Estimationof Measurement Signals”, (in Polish - Noweadaptacyjne metody i algorytmy przetwarzaniasygnalów w obecnosci zaklócenniegaussowskich. Zastosowania do slepejdetekcji sygnalów w systemach CDMA iparametrycznej estymacji sygnalówpomiarowych).- 35 -
