Air National Guard members mayperform duty in a variety of inactive status: UTA,SUTA, RUTA, EQT, AFTP, PT and TPPA. Inactiveduty definitions, limitations and unique terms usedin this chapter are defined in NGR (AF) 50-1.3.2. Authorization and Certif ication. Unitcommanders will provide the base comptroller witha letter appointing individuals to authorizeattendance and certify UTA attendance rosters.Signature cards are not required. Documents willbe accepted for payment processing based onthese appointment letters.3.2.1 . All documents will be legible, prepared inink or by machine, with original signatures. DataFacsimile (FAX) documentation is acceptable basedon DFAS-DEIJA message R1 61421 Z Nov 93. SeeAFM 177 -373, volume 3 for further information ondata FAX documentation. Corrections will be madewith pen and ink. Draw a single line through theincorrect entry and initial; do not obliterate theoriginal entry. Whiteout and correction tape will notbe used.3.2 .2. The unit commander or appointedattendance roster certifying official will certify theNGB Form 633, Attendance Roster (figure 3.1.).3.2 .3. AF Form 40 , Authorization for Inactive DutyTraining, (figure 3.2 .), and NGB Form 105 ,Authorization for Inactive Duty Training (all versions)may be certified by section supervisors, but canonly be authorized by squadron commanders orappointed authorizing officials. Any of the versionsof the NGB Form 105 (A, M, S) (figures 3.3., 3.4 ., and3.6.) may be used to authorize and certify inactiveduty attendance for dates other than the scheduledUTA.3.3. · NGB Form 633, Attendance Roster. TheUTA Attendance Roster is the primary documentused to record UTA attendance or status atscheduled UTAs and SUTAs. The attendance rostermay also be used to schedule members for futureduty such as SUTA, RUTA or EQT. The automatedpersonnel data system is the source of memberassignment data used to prepare the attendanceroster. Military Pay will provide an attendanceroster to each unit scheduled for duty. Membersmay not be added to this preprinted roster. Toreport duty performance for members assigned, butnot appearing on the preprinted attendance roster,the unit must prepare a supplemental attendanceroster, complete with the certification statement atthe end of the roster. UT A/SUT A attendance will berecorded as follows (figure 3.1 .):3.3.1 . Place a checkmark (I) in the appropriatecolumn for all personnel who are physically presentwhen attendance is recorded. No entry will bemade for those personnel not physically present.3.3.2. When attendance has been recorded, theindividual recording attendance will count thenumber of check marks and enter the total at thebottom of the column on the last page of theattendance roster. A head count will be made byan individual other than the person who recordedthe attendance, and the result will be comparedwith the total entered at the bottom of the last pageof the attendance roster. Any discrepancy will beresolved immediately. When the two individualsagree on the total, the verifier places his or herinitials below those of the individual who recordedthe attendance.3.3.3. Unit commanders will ensure the remainingblocks are completed on the attendance rosterusing the codes listed below. This may beaccomplished in each section or the unit orderlyroom as desired by the Unit Commander.3.3.3.1 . P = Member is present for duty, but not information (supported by a corresponding entry onAF Form 40 ).3.3.3.2 . S = Member is scheduled for a SUTA.Enter the specific dates of SUT A in the "remarks"column of the attendance roster. SUTA datesprovided will be for two periods each, unlessotherwise indicated. This code may be used onlyon the primary UTA roster.3.3. 3.3. R = Member is scheduled for a RUTA.Enter the specific dates of RUTA in the "remarks"column of the attendance roster. Failure to enterRUTA dates will create RUTA suspensetransactions using the date of UTA period missedand a management notice will be entered on thecommander's report for action. RUTA datesprovided will be for two periods each, unlessotherwise indicated.3.3.3.4 . Q = Member is scheduled to performEQT. Dates may be entered in the "remarks"section, but are not required. EQT dates providedwill be for two periods each, unless otherwiseindicated.3.3.3.5 . X = Member is constructively present(performing active duty or physically unable toperform duty due to military incapacitations - LOD).3.3.3.6. E = Member has been excused from theUTAISUTA by the Unit Commander. Future dutyperformance is not anticipated.3.3.3.7. B = Member has performed duty prior tothe scheduled UT AISUT A.
