32An <strong><strong>in</strong>vestigation</strong> <strong>in</strong>to the <strong>domestic</strong> <strong>laundry</strong> <strong>habits</strong> <strong>in</strong> EuropeOnce more, even though almost all <strong>of</strong> the respondents wash their T-shirts <strong>in</strong> awash<strong>in</strong>g mach<strong>in</strong>e, the temperature used differs considerably. Aga<strong>in</strong> the Sp<strong>an</strong>ishrespondents tend to do their <strong>laundry</strong> <strong>in</strong> the coldest water. 48 % say theywash their T-shirts <strong>in</strong> cold water, <strong>an</strong>d 30 % at 30 °C. The Norwegi<strong>an</strong> respondentsquote the highest temperatures (48 % wash their T-shirts at 60 °C). Figure2-11 shows that 61 % <strong>of</strong> the respondents <strong>in</strong> the Netherl<strong>an</strong>ds <strong>an</strong>d 60 % <strong>of</strong> therespondents <strong>in</strong> Spa<strong>in</strong> ch<strong>an</strong>ge a synthetic blouse or shirt after they have used itonce, compared to 33 % <strong>of</strong> the Greek respondents. The most common pattern<strong>in</strong> Greece is to ch<strong>an</strong>ge it after us<strong>in</strong>g it twice. In all the countries it is rare for asynthetic blouse or shirt to be used more th<strong>an</strong> 3 times before it is washed.
