GENERALINFORMATIONAcademic InformationAfter completing the registration process, studentsshould:1. Contact the Financial Aid Office to verify financialaid award status, if applicable. (Current studentscan check the status of their financial aidawards through their Campus Pipeline account.)2. Pay tuition and fees in the Business Office. No studentis officially enrolled until all fees are paid.Cancelled CoursesWhen a course cancellation reduces a student’s courseload to below full-time status, the student (or sponsor)will receive a 100 percent refund of the difference betweenthe full course load (12 credit hours) and the newcourse load. If the student was enrolled for less than fulltimestatus, the student (or sponsor) will receive a 100percent refund for the actual hours cancelled. No actionis required by the student to initiate the refund. Studentsreceiving financial aid must contact the Financial AidOffice to have their financial aid awards adjusted.Drop/Add PeriodStudents interested in changing their schedules afterclasses have started may do so online via Campus Pipeline.Students may change their schedules during the firstfive instructional days of the term without the droppedcourse appearing on their transcripts. The drop/addperiod will be prorated for terms of varying lengths tocoincide with the equivalent of the first five instructionaldays of a term. Students who add courses after the termbegins are responsible for classes missed. Studentsreceiving financial aid must contact the Financial AidOffice to have their financial aid awards adjusted.There is no drop/add period for “Jumpstart” courses.These courses must be dropped before the class begins,or they will appear on the student’s transcript.notification of the Financial Aid Office if financial aid,scholarships, or “VA” education benefits are received.Withdrawal from the <strong>College</strong>All students officially withdrawing from the <strong>College</strong> mustcomplete a “Withdraw from <strong>College</strong>” form available inStudent Records. Students are required to meet with aFinancial Aid counselor prior to submitting the form toStudent Records.GRADUATIONGraduation RequirementsTo graduate from the <strong>College</strong>, a student must meet andcomplete the following requirements:• Satisfactorily complete the required courses andthe number of credit hours specified in a programof study.• Achieve at least a 2.00 grade point average in theprogram of study.• File an “Application for Graduation” with the Registrarand pay the $20 graduation fee.• Pay all financial obligations owed to the <strong>College</strong>.A student must earn a minimum of 25 percent of thecredit hours required for a degree, diploma, or certificatethrough courses taken at the <strong>College</strong>. Included inthe approved coursework for a diploma or degree mustbe two courses selected from the curriculum major,unless specifically exempted by both the departmenthead and dean.Commencement CeremoniesGraduation exercises are held at the end of the SpringSemester and the Summer Term each year. All studentsmust apply to graduate. All graduates are encouraged toattend the commencement exercises.28Withdrawal from a ClassAny student may withdraw her/himself, online viaCampus Pipeline, with a grade of W after the drop/addperiod but prior to the completion of 60 percent of thesession for which the class is offered. A student who hasnot withdrawn or been withdrawn prior to the deadlinewill receive the final course grade calculated as stated inthe course syllabus.A grade of W may be awarded after the deadline providedthe student presents reasonable, documented, nonacademiccircumstances as justification for an exceptionto policy. Such an exception requires the approval of theinstructor and head of the department in which thecourse is housed. A student may not be withdrawn afterthe last day of class (excluding final exams).The student is responsible for all transactions, includingGraduation HonorsGraduates who have outstanding cumulative grade pointaverages will be recognized as honor graduates. Honorsdesignations are as follows: 3.50 – 3.74 (with honors);3.75 – 3.94 (with high honors); and 3.95 – 4.00 (withhighest honors).TranscriptsSTUDENT RECORDS<strong>College</strong> academic transcripts are issued by the StudentRecords Office. Written permission must be granted bythe student before a transcript may be released. To requesta transcript in writing or in person, the followingis required: student’s full name, social security number,dates of attendance, address where transcript(s) shouldbe sent, if required, and the signature of the student. A$5 fee will be charged for each transcript.
